Think and Write
1. The role of educated empowered women in building a strong nation
Educated and empowered women are the pillars of a progressive and strong nation. They contribute to the economy, governance, education, and health sectors. When women are empowered, they ensure better upbringing of children, improved community well-being, and balanced socio-economic growth. They help eliminate poverty, reduce gender inequality, and build a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable nation.
2. The role of learning, labour, and leadership skills in making a woman liberated
Christine Lagarde’s “3 Ls” show how:
- Learning gives women the tools and confidence to challenge stereotypes.
- Labour allows them economic freedom and dignity through equal participation in the workforce.
- Leadership positions help them influence decisions and set examples for others.
Together, these skills liberate women from dependency and promote self-reliance and equality.
3. “Women should step outside their comfort zones.” Discuss.
Women often stay within traditional roles due to societal expectations. However, true empowerment happens when women take risks, challenge norms, and pursue careers, leadership, or education that may lie outside what is “expected.” Stepping out of comfort zones leads to confidence, independence, and societal change.
4. “Women sometimes lack confidence to match their competence.” Comment.
Many capable women underestimate their own abilities due to internal doubts or social pressure. Even though they are skilled and qualified, they may hesitate to speak up or take leadership. Society must encourage women to believe in themselves and offer platforms where their skills are recognized equally.
5. How can we build self-confidence in women?
- Through education and skill development
- By supporting women-led initiatives
- Providing safe environments to express ideas
- Encouraging public speaking and leadership training
- Promoting role models and celebrating achievements of women
- Eliminating gender bias from schools, homes, and workplaces

Topic: Education is the Key to Women Empowerment
Occasion: To be delivered at school assembly on International Women’s Day (March 8)
Speech Script
Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and dear friends,
Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, I wish to speak on a powerful truth: “Education is the key to women empowerment.”
Education is not just about reading and writing—it is about unlocking dreams, building confidence, and finding a voice. An educated woman can make informed choices, support her family, raise strong children, and lead her community. As Christine Lagarde said in her speech, learning is the first L of empowerment—and the most crucial.
Unfortunately, millions of girls are still denied education. Without education, they remain trapped in a cycle of poverty and dependence. But with education, they become doctors, engineers, artists, scientists, leaders—and above all, free individuals.
Let us not forget: when you educate a girl, you educate an entire society. Let us promise to support girls’ education in every way possible—by ending discrimination, ensuring equal opportunities, and creating safe spaces for learning.
So let’s dare the difference, and help create a future where every girl learns, earns, and leads.
Thank you. Jai Hind!
